Men and Women, Difference In Routine

While stereotypes usually go away after some time, some still exist because they are based upon the real differences between men and women.

Some women can actually achieve the upper body strength of some men but most men do have a natural advantage in this area. This is because men tend to work on their upper bodies more than women do.

Women want to look attractive and so they focus more on leg and buttock exercises. There is a slight natural advantage here. For instance, a woman’s pelvis tilts at a different angle. This will affect the style of squats that are done and how effective they will be. Women do better whenever they tilt their feet outward and keep their legs farther apart while not squatting really low.

Overall, most women have less muscle mass then men, but they do have additional layers of muscle in their stomach. Women also have more body fat then men. As such, a well-designed women’s fitness routine will focus less on bulking up and more on toning and flexibility. This routine should start off slow when it comes to lifting because women are more likely to get injured from lifting too much, too soon.

Most men are a lot less flexible than women. This is due to the natural difference in joints and attitude as well. Men have a tendency to short change their warm-up routines, including stretching.

Both men and women would do well to adapt some of the aspects of the opposite sex’s workout routines.

Women are oftentimes more open to trying new things like yoga or pilates. These focus on different body parts in order to maximize flexibility. They do not have much to do with strength, however a good yoga or pilates routine will result in additional strength. For instance, a lot of yoga routines focus upon balance, which is optimized when all of the muscles help to support the joints and skeleton at correct angles in a dynamic way. This is both the cause and the result of improved muscle strength. In particular, pilates is a coordinated system to help you achieve better strength, posture and breathing. It concentrates more on improving muscle groups than on building them.

Many of the workout systems that were popularized in the West over the past 20 years focus upon the integration of the mind and body, with each one helping the other. This is why these systems are very helpful therapy for people who have spine and joint problems.

While both men and women tend to lay more importance n some exercise values and routines, both can benefit by adopting some of the workout habits of the opposite sex.
